Obituary for Jeffrey G. French

FRENCH – Jeffrey G. French, 63, passed away on May 12, 2018. He was born November 7, 1954 in Torrington; the son of the late Ronald A. French, Sr., and Jennie (Ur) French. Jeff thoroughly enjoyed working for Pratt & Whitney as a Quality Assurance Inspector for over 30 years in Southington, Middletown and Cheshire. He most recently worked at Inertia Dynamics in New Hartford. He enjoyed fishing for trout at Highland Lake, especially on Opening Day each April with his friends, and occasionally fly fishing the Farmington River. Jeff loved riding his motorcycle, taking long walks and golfing. He loved the beach and especially Cape Cod. He loved the game of baseball and was a die-hard Red Sox fan. He also enjoyed planting his garden each spring and entering his vegetables in the Harwinton and Goshen fairs in the fall. Jeff was a collector of stamps, coins, and baseball cards, and was a member of the Elks Club in Torrington. Above all, Jeff adored his two daughters, attending their sport activities, dance recitals and music recitals whenever he could. He is survived by his beloved daughters, Emily Carpenter and husband Stephen of AZ and Ellen French of Torrington; brother, Ronald French, Jr., of Torrington; mother of his children, Jean Fracasso of Torrington; former-in-laws, Cookie Fracasso and Bob of MA, Peter Fracasso and Susan of Enfield and Jack Fracasso and Lita of RI, four nephews, one great nephew and several cousins. He will be dearly missed, but will live on in the hearts of his many family and friends. Friends may call on Friday, May 18, 2018 at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted from 3-5 PM with a service at 5 PM. Visit an online guestbook at Montano-shea.com.
